Barangay San Miguel

Barangay San Miguel is a small barangay in the municipality of Echague, located in the province of Isabela, in the Cagayan Valley region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay San Miguel had a population of 809. This made it the 49th largest of 64 barangays in Echague by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay San Miguel accounted for approximately 0.92% of the total population of Echague, which stood at 88,410 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay San Miguel changed from 669 to 809, a shift of +20.9% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Echague. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay San Miguel as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Echague is a municipality comprising 64 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay San Miguel, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
