This made it the 2nd largest of 18 barangays in El Nido by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Villa Libertad accounted for approximately 10.56% of the total population of El Nido, which stood at 50,494 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Villa Libertad changed from 3,289 to 5,333, a shift of +62.1% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in El Nido. Barangay Villa Libertad is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

El Nido is a municipality comprising 18 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Villa Libertad, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
