Barangay Liwan Norte

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Liwan Norte is one of the administrative divisions of Enrile in Cagayan, Cagayan Valley, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Liwan Norte had a population of 2,776. This made it the 2nd largest of 22 barangays in Enrile by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Liwan Norte accounted for approximately 7.56% of the total population of Enrile, which stood at 36,705 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Liwan Norte changed from 2,687 to 2,776, a shift of +3.3% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Enrile. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Liwan Norte as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Enrile is a municipality comprising 22 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Liwan Norte, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Cagayan, which contains 820 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Liwan Norte ranks 94th by 2020 population. The barangay's legislative and executive affairs are handled by a Punong Barangay and the Sangguniang Barangay, elected nationwide during the Barangay and SK Elections.
