This made it the 1st largest of 22 barangays in Enrile by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Maddarulug Sur accounted for approximately 8.42% of the total population of Enrile, which stood at 36,705 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,736 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 3,092 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +13.0%, consistent with a growing settlement.
