Barangay Magalalag West

Barangay Magalalag West is a small barangay in the municipality of Enrile, located in the province of Cagayan, in the Cagayan Valley region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Magalalag West had a population of 1,010. This made it the 19th largest of 22 barangays in Enrile by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Magalalag West accounted for approximately 2.75% of the total population of Enrile, which stood at 36,705 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,233 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,010 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -18.1%, consistent with a contracting settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Magalalag West as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Enrile is a municipality comprising 22 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Magalalag West, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
