Barangay Alicante

Situated in Enrique B. Magalona, Negros Occidental, Barangay Alicante is one of 23 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Alicante had a population of 7,297. This made it the 1st largest of 23 barangays in Enrique B. Magalona by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Alicante accounted for approximately 11.35% of the total population of Enrique B. Magalona, which stood at 64,290 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 6,966 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 7,297 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +4.8%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Alicante is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Magalona is a municipality comprising 23 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Alicante, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
