Barangay Guiamalia

Barangay Guiamalia is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Esperanza, located in the province of Sultan Kudarat, in the SOCCSKSARGEN region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Guiamalia had a population of 2,196. This made it the 17th largest of 19 barangays in Esperanza by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Guiamalia accounted for approximately 2.94% of the total population of Esperanza, which stood at 74,696 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Guiamalia moving from 1,994 residents to 2,196 residents, an intercensal change of +10.1%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Guiamalia as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Esperanza is a municipality comprising 19 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Guiamalia, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
