Barangay Basiao

Situated in Garcia Hernandez, Bohol, Barangay Basiao is one of 30 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Basiao had a population of 543. This made it the 21st largest of 30 barangays in Garcia Hernandez by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Basiao accounted for approximately 2.22% of the total population of Garcia Hernandez, which stood at 24,430 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Basiao changed from 532 to 543, a shift of +2.1% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Garcia Hernandez. Barangay Basiao is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
