Barangay Piña Weste

Situated in Gattaran, Cagayan, Barangay Piña Weste is one of 50 barangays that make up the municipality within Cagayan Valley.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Piña Weste had a population of 1,480. This made it the 13th largest of 50 barangays in Gattaran by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Piña Weste accounted for approximately 2.51% of the total population of Gattaran, which stood at 58,874 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Piña Weste changed from 1,462 to 1,480, a shift of +1.2% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with slowly expanding populations in Gattaran. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Piña Weste as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Gattaran is a municipality comprising 50 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Piña Weste, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
