Barangay Nazareth

Barangay Nazareth is a large barangay in the municipality of General Tinio, located in the province of Nueva Ecija, in the Central Luzon region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Nazareth had a population of 5,376. This made it the 4th largest of 13 barangays in General Tinio by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Nazareth accounted for approximately 9.61% of the total population of General Tinio, which stood at 55,925 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Nazareth changed from 3,599 to 5,376, a shift of +49.4% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in General Tinio. Barangay Nazareth is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

General Tinio is a municipality comprising 13 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Nazareth, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Nueva Ecija, which contains 849 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Nazareth ranks 90th by 2020 population. Nueva Ecija is classified as a 1st by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.

Barangay Nazareth is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
