Barangay Poblacion District II

Barangay Poblacion District II is a small barangay in the municipality of Gigmoto, located in the province of Catanduanes, in the Bicol Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Poblacion District II had a population of 1,775. This made it the 1st largest of 9 barangays in Gigmoto by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion District II accounted for approximately 20.37% of the total population of Gigmoto, which stood at 8,712 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,763 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,775 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +0.7%, consistent with a slowly expanding settlement. Barangay Poblacion District II is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Gigmoto is a municipality comprising 9 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion District II, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
