This made it the 31st largest of 31 barangays in Glan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Batotuling accounted for approximately 0.95% of the total population of Glan, which stood at 109,547 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Batotuling changed from 1,472 to 1,041, a shift of -29.3% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Glan. Barangay Batotuling is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
