Barangay New Aklan

Barangay New Aklan is a small barangay in the municipality of Glan, located in the province of Sarangani, in the SOCCSKSARGEN region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay New Aklan had a population of 1,811. This made it the 28th largest of 31 barangays in Glan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay New Aklan accounted for approximately 1.65% of the total population of Glan, which stood at 109,547 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay New Aklan moving from 1,886 residents to 1,811 residents, an intercensal change of -4.0%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay New Aklan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Glan is a municipality comprising 31 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay New Aklan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
