Barangay Pangyan

Classified as a large barangay, Barangay Pangyan is one of the administrative divisions of Glan in Sarangani, SOCCSKSARGEN, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Pangyan had a population of 6,858. This made it the 2nd largest of 31 barangays in Glan by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Pangyan accounted for approximately 6.26% of the total population of Glan, which stood at 109,547 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Pangyan moving from 6,643 residents to 6,858 residents, an intercensal change of +3.2%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Pangyan is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Glan is a municipality comprising 31 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Pangyan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Sarangani, which contains 141 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Pangyan ranks 17th by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
