Barangay San Jose

Barangay San Jose is a small barangay in the municipality of Glan, located in the province of Sarangani, in the SOCCSKSARGEN region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay San Jose had a population of 1,664. This made it the 29th largest of 31 barangays in Glan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay San Jose accounted for approximately 1.52% of the total population of Glan, which stood at 109,547 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay San Jose moving from 1,760 residents to 1,664 residents, an intercensal change of -5.5%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay San Jose is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Glan is a municipality comprising 31 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay San Jose, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Sarangani, which contains 141 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay San Jose ranks 121st by 2020 population.
