Barangay Santa Maria

Situated in Gloria, Oriental Mindoro, Barangay Santa Maria is one of 27 barangays that make up the municipality within MIMAROPA Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Santa Maria had a population of 2,157. This made it the 9th largest of 27 barangays in Gloria by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Santa Maria accounted for approximately 4.27% of the total population of Gloria, which stood at 50,496 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,034 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,157 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +6.0%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Santa Maria is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Gloria is a municipality comprising 27 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Santa Maria, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
