Barangay Cabanbanan Sur

Barangay Cabanbanan Sur is a small barangay in the municipality of Gonzaga, located in the province of Cagayan, in the Cagayan Valley region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Cabanbanan Sur had a population of 628. This made it the 24th largest of 25 barangays in Gonzaga by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Cabanbanan Sur accounted for approximately 1.51% of the total population of Gonzaga, which stood at 41,680 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 549 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 628 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +14.4%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Cabanbanan Sur as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
