Barangay Escano

Barangay Escano is a very small barangay in the municipality of Guimba, located in the province of Nueva Ecija, in the Central Luzon region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Escano had a population of 446. This made it the 63rd largest of 64 barangays in Guimba by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Escano accounted for approximately 0.35% of the total population of Guimba, which stood at 127,653 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Escano changed from 378 to 446, a shift of +18.0% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Guimba. Barangay Escano is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Guimba is a municipality comprising 64 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Escano, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Nueva Ecija, which contains 849 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Escano ranks 834th by 2020 population.
