Barangay Buensuceso

Barangay Buensuceso forms part of Gumaca, a municipality in Quezon, and is classified as a mid-sized barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Buensuceso had a population of 4,507. This made it the 2nd largest of 59 barangays in Gumaca by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Buensuceso accounted for approximately 6.26% of the total population of Gumaca, which stood at 71,942 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Buensuceso changed from 4,622 to 4,507, a shift of -2.5% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Gumaca. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Buensuceso as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Gumaca is a municipality comprising 59 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Buensuceso, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Quezon, which contains 1,242 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Buensuceso ranks 79th by 2020 population. The next BSKE is scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, following the synchronized election schedule set by COMELEC Resolution No. 11191.
