Barangay Balsic

Barangay Balsic is a large barangay in the municipality of Hermosa, located in the province of Bataan, in the Central Luzon region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Balsic had a population of 7,840. This made it the 2nd largest of 23 barangays in Hermosa by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Balsic accounted for approximately 10.12% of the total population of Hermosa, which stood at 77,443 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Balsic moving from 6,594 residents to 7,840 residents, an intercensal change of +18.9%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Balsic as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Hermosa is a municipality comprising 23 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Balsic, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Bataan, which contains 237 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Balsic ranks 20th by 2020 population.
