Barangay Himaya

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Himaya is one of the administrative divisions of Hinigaran in Negros Occidental, Western Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Himaya had a population of 3,323. This made it the 12th largest of 24 barangays in Hinigaran by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Himaya accounted for approximately 3.74% of the total population of Hinigaran, which stood at 88,909 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Himaya moving from 3,542 residents to 3,323 residents, an intercensal change of -6.2%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Himaya is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Hinigaran is a municipality comprising 24 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Himaya, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
