Barangay Po-ok

Situated in Hinoba-An, Negros Occidental, Barangay Po-ok is one of 13 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Po-ok had a population of 3,017. This made it the 10th largest of 13 barangays in Hinoba-An by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Po-ok accounted for approximately 4.96% of the total population of Hinoba-An, which stood at 60,865 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Po-ok moving from 2,704 residents to 3,017 residents, an intercensal change of +11.6%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Po-ok as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Hinoba-An is a municipality comprising 13 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Po-ok, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
