Barangay Passi

Barangay Passi is a small barangay in the municipality of Igbaras, located in the province of Iloilo, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Passi had a population of 577. This made it the 26th largest of 46 barangays in Igbaras by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Passi accounted for approximately 1.79% of the total population of Igbaras, which stood at 32,197 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Passi moving from 630 residents to 577 residents, an intercensal change of -8.4%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Passi is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Igbaras is a municipality comprising 46 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Passi, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
