Barangay Capitan Bayong

Situated in Impasug-Ong, Bukidnon, Barangay Capitan Bayong is one of 13 barangays that make up the municipality within Northern Mindanao.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Capitan Bayong had a population of 3,751. This made it the 6th largest of 13 barangays in Impasug-Ong by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Capitan Bayong accounted for approximately 6.96% of the total population of Impasug-Ong, which stood at 53,863 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 3,122 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 3,751 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +20.1%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Capitan Bayong as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Impasug-Ong is a municipality comprising 13 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Capitan Bayong, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Bukidnon, which contains 464 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Capitan Bayong ranks 128th by 2020 population.
