Barangay Lower Taway

Situated in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay, Barangay Lower Taway is one of 28 barangays that make up the municipality within Zamboanga Peninsula.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Lower Taway had a population of 2,608. This made it the 13th largest of 28 barangays in Ipil by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Lower Taway accounted for approximately 2.92% of the total population of Ipil, which stood at 89,401 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Lower Taway changed from 2,845 to 2,608, a shift of -8.3% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Ipil. Barangay Lower Taway is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
