Barangay Monte Alegre

Barangay Monte Alegre is a small barangay in the municipality of Isabel, located in the province of Leyte, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Monte Alegre had a population of 920. This made it the 15th largest of 24 barangays in Isabel by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Monte Alegre accounted for approximately 1.97% of the total population of Isabel, which stood at 46,781 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Monte Alegre changed from 799 to 920, a shift of +15.1% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Isabel. Barangay Monte Alegre is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
