Barangay Anonang

Situated in Island Garden City of Samal, Davao Del Norte, Barangay Anonang is one of 46 barangays that make up the city within Davao Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Anonang had a population of 2,757. This made it the 14th largest of 46 barangays in Island Garden City of Samal by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay Anonang accounted for approximately 2.36% of the total population of Island Garden City of Samal, which stood at 116,771 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,493 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,757 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +10.6%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Anonang is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Island Garden City of Samal is a city comprising 46 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Anonang, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
