Barangay Mongpong

Barangay Mongpong forms part of Jimalalud, a municipality in Negros Oriental, and is classified as a small barangay.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Mongpong had a population of 980. This made it the 16th largest of 28 barangays in Jimalalud by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Mongpong accounted for approximately 3.04% of the total population of Jimalalud, which stood at 32,256 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Mongpong moving from 861 residents to 980 residents, an intercensal change of +13.8%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Mongpong is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
