Barangay 1 (Pob.)

Barangay 1 (Pob.) is a small barangay in the municipality of Jipapad, located in the province of Eastern Samar, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay 1 (Pob.) had a population of 789. This made it the 4th largest of 13 barangays in Jipapad by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay 1 (Pob.) accounted for approximately 9.35% of the total population of Jipapad, which stood at 8,439 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay 1 (Pob.) moving from 797 residents to 789 residents, an intercensal change of -1.0%. The trajectory indicates a broadly stable community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay 1 (Pob.) as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Jipapad is a municipality comprising 13 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay 1 (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
