Barangay Plaridel

Situated in Jose Panganiban, Camarines Norte, Barangay Plaridel is one of 27 barangays that make up the municipality within Bicol Region.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Plaridel had a population of 2,450. This made it the 10th largest of 27 barangays in Jose Panganiban by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Plaridel accounted for approximately 3.85% of the total population of Jose Panganiban, which stood at 63,662 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,635 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,450 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -7.0%, consistent with a contracting settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Plaridel as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Jose Panganiban is a municipality comprising 27 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Plaridel, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Camarines Norte, which contains 282 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Plaridel ranks 88th by 2020 population.
