Barangay South Poblacion

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay South Poblacion is one of the administrative divisions of Jose Panganiban in Camarines Norte, Bicol Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay South Poblacion had a population of 1,660. This made it the 17th largest of 27 barangays in Jose Panganiban by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay South Poblacion accounted for approximately 2.61% of the total population of Jose Panganiban, which stood at 63,662 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,735 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,660 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -4.3%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay South Poblacion is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Jose Panganiban is a municipality comprising 27 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay South Poblacion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
