Barangay Bogo Calabat

Barangay Bogo Calabat is a small barangay in the municipality of Josefina, located in the province of Zamboanga Del Sur, in the Zamboanga Peninsula region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Bogo Calabat had a population of 1,230. This made it the 3rd largest of 14 barangays in Josefina by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bogo Calabat accounted for approximately 10.08% of the total population of Josefina, which stood at 12,205 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Bogo Calabat changed from 1,170 to 1,230, a shift of +5.1% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Josefina. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Bogo Calabat as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Josefina is a municipality comprising 14 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bogo Calabat, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Zamboanga Del Sur, which contains 779 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Bogo Calabat ranks 289th by 2020 population.
