Barangay Ebarle

Barangay Ebarle forms part of Josefina, a municipality in Zamboanga Del Sur, and is classified as a small barangay.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Ebarle had a population of 515. This made it the 11th largest of 14 barangays in Josefina by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Ebarle accounted for approximately 4.22% of the total population of Josefina, which stood at 12,205 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 507 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 515 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +1.6%, consistent with a slowly expanding settlement. Barangay Ebarle is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Josefina is a municipality comprising 14 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Ebarle, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Zamboanga Del Sur, which contains 779 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Ebarle ranks 591st by 2020 population.
