Barangay Bagacay

Barangay Bagacay is a small barangay in the municipality of Jovellar, located in the province of Albay, in the Bicol Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Bagacay had a population of 969. This made it the 7th largest of 23 barangays in Jovellar by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bagacay accounted for approximately 5.45% of the total population of Jovellar, which stood at 17,795 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Bagacay moving from 985 residents to 969 residents, an intercensal change of -1.6%. The trajectory indicates a broadly stable community. Barangay Bagacay is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
