Barangay Paatan Lower

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Paatan Lower is one of the administrative divisions of Kabacan in Cotabato, SOCCSKSARGEN, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Paatan Lower had a population of 4,145. This made it the 7th largest of 24 barangays in Kabacan by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Paatan Lower accounted for approximately 4.42% of the total population of Kabacan, which stood at 93,822 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 4,515 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 4,145 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -8.2%, consistent with a contracting settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Paatan Lower as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Kabacan is a municipality comprising 24 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Paatan Lower, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
