Barangay Cainglet

Barangay Cainglet is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Kabasalan, located in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, in the Zamboanga Peninsula region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Cainglet had a population of 2,562. This made it the 5th largest of 29 barangays in Kabasalan by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Cainglet accounted for approximately 5.46% of the total population of Kabasalan, which stood at 46,884 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Cainglet changed from 2,468 to 2,562, a shift of +3.8% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Kabasalan. Barangay Cainglet is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Kabasalan is a municipality comprising 29 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Cainglet, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Zamboanga Sibugay, which contains 389 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Cainglet ranks 61st by 2020 population.
