Barangay Goodyear

Situated in Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay, Barangay Goodyear is one of 29 barangays that make up the municipality within Zamboanga Peninsula.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Goodyear had a population of 2,565. This made it the 4th largest of 29 barangays in Kabasalan by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Goodyear accounted for approximately 5.47% of the total population of Kabasalan, which stood at 46,884 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Goodyear changed from 2,332 to 2,565, a shift of +10.0% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Kabasalan. Barangay Goodyear is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Kabasalan is a municipality comprising 29 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Goodyear, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Zamboanga Sibugay, which contains 389 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Goodyear ranks 60th by 2020 population.
