Barangay Dagara

Situated in Kabugao, Apayao, Barangay Dagara is one of 21 barangays that make up the municipality within CAR.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Dagara had a population of 437. This made it the 15th largest of 21 barangays in Kabugao by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Dagara accounted for approximately 2.70% of the total population of Kabugao, which stood at 16,215 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Dagara moving from 541 residents to 437 residents, an intercensal change of -19.2%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Dagara is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Kabugao is a municipality comprising 21 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Dagara, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Apayao, which contains 133 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Dagara ranks 108th by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
