Barangay Maligang

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Maligang is one of the administrative divisions of Kiamba in Sarangani, SOCCSKSARGEN, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Maligang had a population of 2,485. This made it the 10th largest of 19 barangays in Kiamba by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Maligang accounted for approximately 3.78% of the total population of Kiamba, which stood at 65,774 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Maligang moving from 2,258 residents to 2,485 residents, an intercensal change of +10.1%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Maligang as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
