Barangay Santa Catalina

Barangay Santa Catalina is a very small barangay in the municipality of La Libertad, located in the province of Zamboanga Del Norte, in the Zamboanga Peninsula region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Santa Catalina had a population of 272. This made it the 12th largest of 13 barangays in La Libertad by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Santa Catalina accounted for approximately 3.35% of the total population of La Libertad, which stood at 8,119 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Santa Catalina changed from 307 to 272, a shift of -11.4% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in La Libertad. Barangay Santa Catalina is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

La Libertad is a municipality comprising 13 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Santa Catalina, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
