Barangay Lower Pulacan

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Lower Pulacan is one of the administrative divisions of Labangan in Zamboanga Del Sur, Zamboanga Peninsula, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Lower Pulacan had a population of 2,046. This made it the 7th largest of 25 barangays in Labangan by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Lower Pulacan accounted for approximately 4.62% of the total population of Labangan, which stood at 44,262 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Lower Pulacan changed from 1,683 to 2,046, a shift of +21.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Labangan. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Lower Pulacan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Labangan is a municipality comprising 25 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Lower Pulacan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
