Barangay Buneg

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Buneg is one of the administrative divisions of Lacub in Abra, CAR, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Buneg had a population of 865. This made it the 2nd largest of 6 barangays in Lacub by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Buneg accounted for approximately 23.95% of the total population of Lacub, which stood at 3,612 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 875 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 865 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -1.1%, consistent with a broadly stable settlement. Barangay Buneg is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Lacub is a municipality comprising 6 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Buneg, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
