Barangay Bontoc

Situated in Lambunao, Iloilo, Barangay Bontoc is one of 73 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Bontoc had a population of 1,879. This made it the 9th largest of 73 barangays in Lambunao by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bontoc accounted for approximately 2.31% of the total population of Lambunao, which stood at 81,236 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,781 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,879 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +5.5%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Bontoc is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Lambunao is a municipality comprising 73 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bontoc, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
