Situated in Lambunao, Iloilo, Barangay Sagcup is one of 73 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

This made it the 69th largest of 73 barangays in Lambunao by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Sagcup accounted for approximately 0.46% of the total population of Lambunao, which stood at 81,236 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Sagcup moving from 649 residents to 373 residents, an intercensal change of -42.5%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Sagcup as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
