Barangay Bimpal

Barangay Bimpal is a small barangay in the municipality of Lamut, located in the province of Ifugao, in the CAR region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Bimpal had a population of 1,745. This made it the 7th largest of 18 barangays in Lamut by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bimpal accounted for approximately 6.65% of the total population of Lamut, which stood at 26,235 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Bimpal moving from 1,678 residents to 1,745 residents, an intercensal change of +4.0%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Bimpal is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Lamut is a municipality comprising 18 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bimpal, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Ifugao, which contains 176 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Bimpal ranks 33rd by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
