Barangay Poblacion

Situated in Laoac, Pangasinan, Barangay Poblacion is one of 22 barangays that make up the municipality within Ilocos Region.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Poblacion had a population of 2,096. This made it the 2nd largest of 22 barangays in Laoac by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion accounted for approximately 6.14% of the total population of Laoac, which stood at 34,128 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Poblacion moving from 2,025 residents to 2,096 residents, an intercensal change of +3.5%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Poblacion as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Laoac is a municipality comprising 22 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
