Barangay Banban

Situated in Laua-An, Antique, Barangay Banban is one of 40 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Banban had a population of 187. This made it the 37th largest of 40 barangays in Laua-An by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Banban accounted for approximately 0.70% of the total population of Laua-An, which stood at 26,580 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Banban changed from 147 to 187, a shift of +27.2% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Laua-An. Barangay Banban is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Laua-An is a municipality comprising 40 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Banban, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
