Barangay Caragas (Pob.)

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Caragas (Pob.) is one of the administrative divisions of Lavezares in Northern Samar, Eastern Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Caragas (Pob.) had a population of 1,175. This made it the 12th largest of 26 barangays in Lavezares by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Caragas (Pob.) accounted for approximately 4.00% of the total population of Lavezares, which stood at 29,390 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,331 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,175 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -11.7%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Caragas (Pob.) is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Lavezares is a municipality comprising 26 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Caragas (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Northern Samar, which contains 569 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Caragas (Pob.) ranks 194th by 2020 population.
