Barangay Palid I

Barangay Palid I is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Leyte, located in the province of Leyte, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Palid I had a population of 2,099. This made it the 6th largest of 30 barangays in Leyte by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Palid I accounted for approximately 5.20% of the total population of Leyte, which stood at 40,397 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Palid I changed from 1,831 to 2,099, a shift of +14.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Leyte. Barangay Palid I is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
