Barangay Batiocan

Barangay Batiocan is a small barangay in the municipality of Libungan, located in the province of Cotabato, in the SOCCSKSARGEN region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Batiocan had a population of 1,658. This made it the 17th largest of 20 barangays in Libungan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Batiocan accounted for approximately 2.95% of the total population of Libungan, which stood at 56,269 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Batiocan moving from 1,654 residents to 1,658 residents, an intercensal change of +0.2%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. Barangay Batiocan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Libungan is a municipality comprising 20 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Batiocan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Cotabato, which contains 543 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Batiocan ranks 296th by 2020 population.
